About Kerri
I’m Kerri, I am not a baby but not ready to kick it either. At this point in my life I’ve had enough family trauma, male drama, kid adventures and work misfires to write the “War and Peace” of autobiographies. I’ve been taught many lessons, some more than once, and now as a single mom for over 10 years, I’m at an age where I’ve truly learned to love myself. Little of the past matters as much as the here and now. What I am sure of is… It’s not the unforeseen events that bombard your life that make you who you are; it’s how you allow those events to affect your spirit. The emotional meteorites are inevitable and they will undoubtedly take their toll. It is what you use to manage these personal misfortunes that make you stronger. Faced with enough stress, tears, and arguments, and one day you look in the mirror to see a tired old face staring back at you. But it is definitely NOT YOU, or at least not the you — you want to be.
My constant companion my entire life has been my belief in spiritual centering and my commitment to fitness for grounding. Exercise is the salve that heals every hurt, the quiet moments just for me, and the only constant I know with absolute certainty I can control completely. I let nothing stand in the way of my time to train. My divorce followed by a rapid succession of challenges; my father passed away, my mother’s near death illness, the failure of my business and my brother’s cancer was an overwhelming avalanche of catastrophic events.
As I lost the balance in everything I had known to be true and valuable in my life, I traveled down a slippery slope. There was a constant gnawing of negativity taking a toll on me and ultimately my two daughters. The only safe place I knew was the exhilaration of physical training and my diligent spiritual studies to rescript the inside. The hurt and disillusionment of life’s constant curve balls began to dissipate. My confidence changed and the ability to juggle the mayhem became palpable. I discovered what no “self-help” book had ever been able to communicate. If you feel good about your physical being on the outside and you take care of the cobwebs on the inside everything else in your world rights itself.
I devised some simple rules that helped keep me on the right track. As those around me began to notice my “happiness transformation,” my friends and daughters encouraged me to put my “rules” on paper (I prefer “principles”—who likes rules?!) They are It Takes all 5 Principles. They focus on how to create balance in every aspect of your life. These principles are NOT foolproof but a solid guide and outlined in my new book.
“It Takes All 5:A Single Moms Guide to Finding The Real One!” will be available soon.
AS YOU START YOUR PATH, KNOW THAT MANY WOMEN HAVE WALKED IT BEFORE YOU, AND NOW YOU HAVE A NEW FRIEND TO TRAVEL WITH YOU, AND HER NAME IS KERRI.
XOXO
