A Walk in the Park

Choosing the appropriate activity for the first few on-line dates can be a tricky proposition. A safe first date bet according to men and women alike is the coffee date.  For the men its an opportunity to see if the picture and stats match up to the real deal for the price of a Starbucks. For women, it can be less than an hour out of your marathon shopping spree to see if that witty email wordsmith is all that he promised in his missives.

Once you have both established that a second date is in order then the challenge becomes what to do.  You are just beginning to know each other and not sure what types of activities would be the best option for a non-threatening but still unique date. Lots of women mention “long walks on the beach” in their profiles and I suspect men mention the same idea hoping to attract those women. Not a bad idea then is it! If you don’t live near a beach, pick a beautiful park or garden to visit.  The setting is intimate yet open, it’s neutral territory and beautiful. Being outdoors is a great place to really talk and get to know each other better. If the spirit moves you – hold hands or steal a sweet kiss.  My favorite part of this date is that it is an awesome cardio workout. Your romancing and exercising at the same time! Spend at  least 30 minutes on the move. Wanna amp it up? Take a picnic basket of cheese and wine to share.  Then snuggle up on a park bench or beach blanket and voila another incredibly affordable, fun and completely original second date.
